What’s Your Spring Celebration Announcement? (With a Giveaway!)

Ok, it can’t just be me. But I can not believe that it is already spring! It means that it is time for Spring holidays, events, gifts, and announcements!

It seems like spring is one of those seasons that you always have something to celebrate or announce not matter what your stage in life is. Our first baby step into the grown up world is sending out your graduation announcements! Then you blink and you starting to plan your wedding! You can start with save the date cards and then you are sending out wedding invitations and announcements.

Then come baby showers and birth announcements! Then traditionally (I know we did), you move and move until you find a house that is made for your family. Then be responsible! Send out cards saying that you have moved!!! This is one of the least celebrated but most practical announcements;).

Then we start over with graduation announcements, save the date cards and the like for our children. Through it all we still have gifts to buy and memories to organize. With Mother’s Day and Father’s Day coming up it is a perfect time for photo books! With 3 sets of grandparents who don’t live around us, well needless to say there is a high demand for pictures! So they make the perfect gifts. Speaking of photo books….

Giveaway Time!!! So how would you like to win a code for a free 8 x8 photo book from Shutterfly?

Mandatory Entry: Just tell me what your favorite announcement to send or receive is!

Celebrating Love Giveaway

It is almost Valentine’s Day and what would Valentine’s Day be without  little mush? So here is this sweet book all about love!

Celebrating Love: Share, Remember, Cherish follows Celebrating Mom in a new gift series from 1-800-flowers.com and Celebrations.com founder Jim McCann. I knew that Jim McCann was CEO of  1-800-flowers.com but I had no idea that he had founded it back in 1976. He has grown the 1-800-flowers.com brand to represent all things love and holidays so it is only fitting that he wrote this sweet book on love.

Reinforcing the 1-800-flowers.com and Celebrations.com philosophy of helping customers express, connect, and celebrate, McCann balances the practical with the inspirational, and the poignant with the profound, inside this collection of authentic love stories. Full-color drawings illustrate the book throughout and are interspersed with meaningful quotes and little-known facts about love and affection. Divided into four sections based on the distinct seasons of love, Celebrating Love features 150 entries. It even begins with his own sweet love story!

In addition to the release of this book, 1-800-flowers.com is also running the Love Notes contest over on Facebook. Just “like” your favorite bouquet for a chance to win it (or give it)!

Win it! I have been given the opportunity to give 1 copy of Celebrating Love: Share, Remember, Cherish to one of my readers (US only)!

Mandatory Entry: Now you must do this in order to be entered at all! Just tell me which bouquet you liked!

Extra Entries: This is such an awesome giveaway that I am sure you would like more ways to enter. Make sure you leave an extra comment for each entry.

My Family Christmas Book and Memories Review

I love Christmas but not really the commercial side. I feel we need to focus more on Christ and also on family traditions. So I was thrilled to receive a copy of My Family Christmas Book and Memories to review!

This is the ultimate Christmas book to have on hand. It is a 3 ring binder and has convenient tabs for easy access. The sections include Advent, Christmas Reading & Prayers, Kids Craft Ideas and more. They give you the years that carols were written and all the words we can’t always remember;). There are places to help you plan out your Christmas and write in the details of what happened for prosperity!

I love this book because it helps to focus on what is really important about Christmas! Christ! I think this will end up being the book we pull out and read from every year as a family.

Nancy Drew Video Games Review

We love computer games here in the NerdFamily household! But finding something that is both age appropriate and challenging for the kids has been hard. So we were stoked to get a chance to review Secrets Can Kill and Trail of the Twister! Both my 9 year old boy and my 7 year old girl read both the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boy mysteries so they were chomping at the bit as soon as I opened the envelope!

We loved it! These games are mystery and logic based games. Both games have a multi thread take so it takes and immediate action and clue gathering. So they always have to be looking for information that they will need later. That duality enables them to play the games repeatedly because they won’t remember all the logic games and tricks. We know that because first we went through one game as a group and now they are trying to work through it again. And they are still finding it fun and yet challenging.

Now these aren’t easy games but that is the fun. This isn’t something that you would get a child who was just starting to either read or game but someone who is ready for some complexity. We loved it and think it would be a great give for a young gamer!
