It isn’t hard to take this scrap of wrapping paper and get not only a great fine motor skill lesson but some great kids crafting!

I never thought of it as educational, my kids do this with scrap fabric as well as scrap wrapping paper. They really like that the fabric doesn’t tear, or wrinkle.
They could also use the cut-out flowers from the old wrapping paper to decorate plain new wrapping paper for another gift. Years ago, my sister managed to utilize a number of wrapping paper scraps by creating a patchwork quilt-like wrapping paper. Difficult, but fun.
Reminds of that pre-video game world I grew up in when we made our own fun and didn’t throw everything away after only one use. I don’t have kids myself, but thank you for the nostalgia!
