A huge component to large CES booths are always a look to the future and Whirpool gave us a variety of leaps into the future!!!
First, we jumped to the next generation of appliances with connected appliances. These are appliances that are connected to each other and you by direct communications and by app. So the dryer will know what kind of load it is receiving from the washer and how to treat it. But better thank that will be the app connectivity. Imagine being able to check while you are out and see if you (or your kids) remembered to actually turn on the dryer! Or as you are heading home start the dryer again to know out wrinkles. It could be so cool!
But better than that is the look 5 to 10 years into the future with the interactive cook top! This will be built on their induction stove top so it is already a smooth surface. So you will place a pot and use your hands to circle it in order to it turn it on. All your social media will be tied together to you can tweet, manage your Evites and Facebook all while standing front of the stove top! You can do more than just access your recipe but also go through each step and have it integrated into the stove top. So you will have a to do list created with you starting with the ingredient list that will be verified by your refrigerator. Even Pinterest will be integrated so you can look for inspiration for recipes that may not already be in your recipe box!
First off the whole idea of innovation leading to this level of my life being integrated into my appliances. Secondly, I love the smoothness of the interactions!!! Since it is an induction stove then you touch it because it is cool. So I could set up a kid who is learning how to cook without as much risk as burning themselves because only the area with the pot will be hot. And they can have the recipe built in so it will give them reminders when it is time to do the next thing.
Needless to say, the innovations that Whirlpool wants to bring to our appliances can be more than convenient. It can change our lives!!! Whirlpool is doing innovation right! And I had so much fun checking out the innovation that they are bringing! I enjoyed it so much I got to take part in a video! Thanks BlogHer and Whirlpool!

My idea for the future of my home: I would actually like to own a home of my own, firstly, and if I did have a home, I would want solar panels on the roof, and all energy-saving appliances in the kitchen, laundry room, sensor faucets throughout, excellent venting system over the gas range, and a nice open layout that makes moving around in the house, a breeze 🙂

I love the idea of interactive appliances. I wish whirlpool would make a refrigerator that reminded my kids and husband to put the milk and eggs back on the fridge after they used them.
First off, I think it’s amazing how great technology keeps getting better & better each year. I would love to have solar panels installed one day. My stovetop is getting pretty old & I only have 3 burners working. I would love, love, love a new stovetop with oven. It would be neat to have anything remotely close to what you mentioned above. It would be so cool to let my kids help me cook more without worrying if they will burn themselves or if they forget to add ingredients to a recipe. With the help of this new technology, it will be fantastic!
I would love a more tech house. Like a app that alerts you to when the laundry is done or a washer dryer combo that washes then dries all in one
I would love to have a washer and dryer in one! Would be amazing to pop your clothes in the washer and have them come out dry. No more rewashing clothes because you forgot to put them in the dryer.

In my perfect future home, I want a robot that does nothing but dip my cat boxes and clean up after my cats. LOL

The future for my home is more automation that is meaningful and beneficial not just tech for the sake of tech. I like water-saving appliances, washers/dryers that have an app interface so I can load it and then start it so it’ll be done when I get home instead of sitting all day, refrigerators that flex for holidays and big parties, wifi networks that have internal parental controls, motion sensor faucets, and just for fun a mirror that would tell me I’m gorgeous!
I tweeted about it on The Twitters – https://twitter.com/SaraFHawkins/status/424322720524812289
I’d love a single appliance that is both a washer and dryer – toss in the clothes, come back and they are washed and dried. A space saver and a tome saver.
More efficient kitchen storage and a self cleaning toilet/shower/tub would be wonderful.
I think maybe this already exists, but I don’t have it yet. I’d like a dryer that turns back on when items are not fully dry and dries in fluff stages AND separates the socks from the rest of the load. Not like a lingerie bag, but one that really keeps them separate, but TOGETHER.

I would love to see everything easy to clean and low maintenance! I really need an oven/stove that cut off automatically so I don’t burn things because I am too A.D.D. to remember! I am not sure if I would use the other techie stuff but I am willing to try it!

I would love to have a kitchen with some of these responsive electronics; like an oven that starts preheating while I am on the way home.
